Citing Notes from Web Interface

I have a student who has a Chromebook (more and more popular), and he is unable to download the desktop app. He is, however, able to use the Chrome plug-in, save citations to his account, manage them through the web interface, and create a bibliography entry for his citations. Is there a way to create a note citation from the web interface like there is for creating a bibliography citation?

Thanks so much for any insight.
Matt
  • There is not a way to create an automatically updating citation/bibliography through the web interface. The web interface is not a substitute for the desktop app, but the student can likely install the Linux version of the Zotero app on their Chromebook.

If this is just for a one-off paper and he doesn't need to build up a longer-term library, our web-based bibliography tool, ZoteroBib, can generate note citations. But nothing will handle note styles (or most styles) as well as the word processor plugins, which are part of the full Zotero app.
  • Thanks for the replies! The student wants to start using it for the long-term, so I will encourage him to explore the Linux version. I didn't know about ZoteroBib, so thanks, dstillman for that info too!

    Thanks again,
    Matt
