Zotero starts with wrong localization since update to macOS 10.14 Mojave

Since I updated my mac from macOS 10.13 to macOS 10.14 Zotero starts with an English interface instead of localized one. In Zotero settings > Advanced tab, the option "Automatic (English)" is selected. However, my system locale is Dutch and Zotero used to start with a Dutch interface before updating to 10.14.

Only after selecting "Nederlands" (Dutch) and after restarting Zotero, I can use Zotero with a Dutch interface. When I select again "Automatic" as language option and restart Zotero, the interface is in English again.

I'm using Zotero 5.0.55.1 with Better BibTeX 5.1.2 on macOS 10.14 (Dutch). Disabling BBT doesn't make a difference.

    Dear Zotero developers,

This problem still exists with Zotero 5.0.66 on macOS 10.14.4 (Dutch system language). I hope it can be resolved since it affects probably also other users with a non-English system language using macOS Mojave.
  • Thanks — we're aware of this, but unfortunately the system locale detection is broken on Mojave in the underlying framework we use, so you need to set this manually for now. This will be fixed in a future version.
