Compact file storage strategy.

For current versions, when archiving web pages, the storage format is html and some related files, which is kind of waste of storage resources, since many files with only tens of bytes will take up storage hundreds times larger.

I suggest to use mht format for web pages, or zip format, which will save storage.

Another thing is that I find there is a ".zotero-ft-info" file in each directory for each PDF files after indexing that PDF file, but it seems that this file is useless after indexing (I am not sure). If so, I suggest to remove this file after indexing, which will save a lot of storage if a user has thousands of PDF files in storage.

Thanks! Hope Zotero get better!
  • This has been requested before.

Disk space is cheap and modern filesystems do not have problems with many files (and you can use file system compression if it is a real concern). More fundamentally, though, Firefox has no mht support.

  • Thanks for the information!

    Are the ".zotero-ft-info" files useless?
If so, I can delete them safely. Thanks!
