McGill 9th Edition

edited September 18, 2018
Hi there, I was wondering if zotero will update the McGill citation style from the 5th to the 9th edition this year? It was just updated by McGill this August so it's not likely to change for some time.

If there is no plans to add it, am I able to somehow go into the program and alter the citation guide myself at least for my own personal use?

Thank you for your help. I've been using zotero for APA for likely close to a decade.
  • Can you outline the differences in the style?
  • As for the general answers to your questions: we'll try to update the McGill style, but legal styles are a lot of effort and generally difficult to work with, so this may take significant time (and giving us a sense of what changed helps speed that up) and yes, it's absolutely possible, if not super easy, to do this yourself https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step
  • Hi there,

Thank you for the answers. I'm brand new to McGill so I'm not sure what has changed since I've never used previous versions. The only reason I know it has changed is because one of my professors told my class that the citation style was updated/changed as of the summer.

    Thank you for the link.
  • For legal citations, you might also want to consider Juris-M, a third-party version of Zotero with much extended legal citation support. https://juris-m.github.io
