Writing Dissertation - Used Zotero on old computer

I don't know if I've done something wrong when I installed Zotero on my new laptop but I can not operate the program as I have on my old computer for the past three years while working on my Doctorate. I can see "My Library", I can "Add an item" but I can't "Add citation"
Can you help me?

Do you mean adding a citation to your Word document? Those buttons are in the Zotero tab in Word.

There is no Zotero tab in Word (I know what you mean though. I know where it should be). Have I missed a step on the installation?

In Zotero preferences, click Cite, then Word Processors, then Re-Install Word Plugin.

What version of Word are you using?

Can someone walk me through how to make the zotero mini-menu appear in Word 365? Right now, to make it appear, have to go through several clicks each time.

bwiernik -- The Zotero plugin appears -- and there is a tab with zotero commands along the top row of tabs. What I was asking was whether (and how) can I get the mini-bar menu to appear as it appears in Mac Word 11 and LibreOffice to appear on Word 365 (ver: 16.17)?

That’s not possible. Word 2016/365 doesn’t have the option to make floating toolbars like in Word 2011. You can access the commands from the Zotero tab, and you can also add the Zotero macros to the Word Quick Access Toolbar at the top of the window: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Assign-a-macro-to-a-button-728C83EC-61D0-40BD-B6BA-927F84EB5D2C
