Q: Add DOI info to existing entry, so that author/journal info can get auto-populated from that?
Dear Zotero folks,
I recently started using Zotero. I've imported my old PDF library (which was in Papers.app), and have some PDFs for which Zotero couldn't find the metadata. However, I do know the DOI for these PDFs. Is there a way I can provide Zotero with that DOI info for an existing PDF entry, so that it can get the metadata for it and then auto-fill-out the author / journal / etc info?
Or is the only solution to remove my existing PDF from the Zotero library, add a new item by identifier (using the DOI), and then drag the PDF file onto that newly (re)added item?

bwiernikYou don't need to remove the PDF first. Just add the item by identifier, then drag the PDF in Zotero onto the newly created item.
