Changing APA in-text citation to chronological

Hi,
Is there a way in which APA in-text citation can be converted from displaying alphabetically to chronologically?

What is your goal here? Is this for a specific journal or just personal preference? What sort of publication is this for? The APA manual clearly states to order sources alphabetically, then chronologically.

Thank you for the reply. It was actually suggested by my advisor, so that's why I was wondering if there was a way for it to be done automatically.

You would need to edit the APA CSL style. That would be doable and easy, but I would first recommend you point out to your advisor that this is not the current APA rule. Previous editions of APA did sort chronologically, so many folks believe that to still be the case.

If you do want to edit the style, open the apa.csl file from here (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/citation-style-language/styles/master/apa.csl) in a text editor (Notepad, TextEdit, etc.), and switch the order of these two lines:

<key macro="author" names-min="8" names-use-first="6"/>
<key macro="issued-sort"/>


Then change the style title and id at the top of the style, save, and install the file into Zotero. Basic guidelines for style editing are here: https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step#manually_editing_csl_styles
