feature request: structured bibliographies from collections and collection titles

Hi,
maybe I am overlooking something, but for syllabi etc I often need to create bibliographies that are thematically structured. Ideally this would work simply by ordering items into collections and (sub-)subcollections and then being able to output these as bibliographies that include the (sub-)collection titles.
I could find this relevant discussion, which just indicates that it is not possible:
