Library lookup setup

Hello to everyone.

I wish to configure the Library lookup feature of Zotero (last version) to search on my institution resolver.
Where can i find instructions on how to setup my resolver in Zotero?
The guide just says to retrieve the open url resolver of my institution in zotero preference. I did that but when I use the feature selecting an item from the library i just manage to open the service main page.
I suppose that Zotero must pass to the open url resolver some data, but i haven't found which ones and how.

Thank you so much for any help you can give.

  • From the Advanced pane of Zotero preferences, if you are on your university network, click the Search for Resolvers button to detect it automatically. Then select the correct choice from the list. If that doesn't work, try to search Google or your library website for the OpenURL address or look for it on this page: https://www.zotero.org/support/locate/openurl_resolvers

Then copy it to the Resolver field.
  • Hello and thank you for the reply.
I already did that but probably when you configure your institutions resolver you need to specify some other settings to make Zotero send properly the item's metadata to resolver for the search.
The same problem i have with the lookup engines: when i set one, click on an item in my library and then i choose that engine to lookup for it i am forwarded to the engine main page but no search results are given. Even when i know that that item should be available on that engine.

Thanks a lot for any further help :-)

  • If you are taken to your library’s search engine page, then this would be a issue with their setup of OpenURL, not with Zotero.
