Failure to install either Chrome or Opera Connector

Any thoughts how to do this? I use Opera, already have a Zotero account, just set up Zotero desktop for Windows 10.

1. Clicking on Install button for Chrome on Zotero website yields utterly no action.

2. Clicking on install button for Opera on Zotero website yields 404 not found on Opera addons page.

3. Searching for "zotero" on Opera addons page yields zero results.
  • Where are you seeing an Opera button on the Zotero website? Zotero no longer has an Opera extension, so that's a mistake.

It's possible to use the Chrome extension in Opera, though it's unsupported:

    https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/opera_browser
  • Zotero "see all connectors" (https://www.zotero.org/start) has a link that takes one to Opera. Would attach screenshot if it were possible.

Back to the Chrome failure. On same Zotero page, when I press the main Install button (meant for Chrome), nothing happens. Maybe because I use Opera. Fair enough.

I'll go to Chrome addon site and see what I can do.
  • Installed Chrome addon to Opera. Most of these Chrome addons work but not all, so no complaints--just disappointment!--if it fails to work. Zotero is one of the few apps that might get me to open a different browser.
  • The separate Opera plugin is discontinued. You can install the Chrome plugin to Opera and it will work.
  • Zotero "see all connectors" (https://www.zotero.org/start) has a link that takes one to Opera.
OK, sorry, that's outdated. We'll remove.
  • thanks, bwiernik, glad to know it will just work!
  • so how did you solve the problem? I cannot install the connector either. The programme seems to open in Word, but when I press the Install button for Chrome (for the connector), nothing happens. I have Windows 10 Home and Microsoft Office 2013.
  • The above problem was about Opera.
When you go to the Zotero Connector page in the Chrome Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/zotero-connector/ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc?hl=en
what does the installation button say? Does it change at all if you click it?
  • It worked now from your link. Thank you very much!

    (1. My problem was mainly in the page displaying in Chrome right immediately after installing Zotero - ''Succes!..'' in green colour, Chrome and Zotero icons linked with a ''plus'' and the Install button. When pressing that Install, nothing happened. No change anywhere.
    2. And it didn't work from this link either https://www.zotero.org/download/ )
  • @wildkatt: Sorry about that. A change in Chrome that rolled out today broke that button. Both pages are fixed now. Thanks for letting us know.
