Upgrade StorageZotero extension not working for Safari 11.1

Zotero extension in Safari does not save citations to Zotero.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Start Zotero
2) Start Safari and search for an article/book/citation. (This error happened throughout the day with different formats and different webpages, not only Google).
3) Click the extension.
4) A small window opens saying "saving to Zotero" but nothing is being saved.
