Is there a way to mark entries as read in your library?

I use a colored tag for to read, you could use one for to read -- they are quite flexible and super quick to assign/unassign. https://www.zotero.org/support/collections_and_tags#colored_tags

I'm pretty new one in Zotero world but comparing to what other bibliography managers could do you can basically create a set of 'collections' in your Zotero library. Roughly collection is equal to a folder in your library which nested into the last one. I've created a bunch of folders, e.g. 'dropped', 'in prorgess' 'read (done) and 'want to read'. That helps me to separate the scope and define appropriate statutes comes from my mind.

@hamsternik Maybe you'd like try this plugin, Zotero Tag https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-tag .

It can automatically add '/unread' for new items, and remove it after you opened it.
