Zotero keeps modifying all citations when I insert a new one.

Zotero keeps going over the other citations and keeps asking:
"You have modified this citation since Zotero generated it. Do you want to keep your modifications and prevent future updates?
Clicking "yes" will prevent Zotero from updating this citation if you add additional citations, switch styles, or modify the item to which it refers. Clicking "no" will erase your changes."
I click "yes" in order not to lose my most up-to-date entries, but then Zotero keeps asking this question for other entries.

How do I stop this when I just want to add one citation to a document I'm working on? The document is over 300 pages and it has already been professionally edited but I am still working on it and Zotero changes the citations and it doesn't have a "Quit" function....it just keeps going and going. How do I stop this just to add a few citations??? It seems like I've tried everything and I cannot figure out it.

I'm using the most update form of Zotero: 5.0.54 and MS Word for Mac 2011, Version 14.5.8(151023).

Thank you. Any help would be greatly appreciated it.
  • If the document is post copy-edit, I'd recommend to not use Zotero's Word add-on anymore. Just insert the citations manually and update the bibliography as needed.
