“Style Error: [Annals of Surgery]”

Hi everybody,
it seems to me that the document generated in this style in Word does not look like i should.

Manusscript with Zotero: "survival is just over a year(1,5)"

For the journal the citiation number should be supercript numbers.

REFERENCES
Zotero:
1. He J, Ahuja N, Makary MA, Cameron JL, Eckhauser FE, Choti MA, et al. 2564 resected periampullary adenocarcinomas at a single institution: trends over three decades. HPB (Oxford). 2014 Jan;16(1):83–90.

This is what the journals direction for authors (http://edmgr.ovid.com/annsurg/accounts/ifauth.htm) states:

"References - The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the references. Place the references (double-spaced) at the end of the manuscript. Cite the references numerically in the text in the order of appearance. Cite unpublished data, such as papers submitted but not yet accepted for publication or personal communications, in parentheses in the text. If there are more than three authors, name only the first three authors and then use "et al". Pages should be listed with all numerals (1081-1089, not 1081-9). Refer to the List of Journals Indexed in Index Medicus for abbreviations of journal names, or access the list at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/tsd/serials/terms_cond.html. Sample references are given below.
Journal article
1. Tafra L, Lannin DR, Swanson MS, et al. Multicenter trial of sentinel node biopsy for breast cancer using both technetium sulfur colloid and isosulfan blue dye. Ann Surg. 2001;233:51–59.

I do hope that this could be handles by someone knowledgeble i .csl, unfortunately i do nor have the time to learn this now, when i badly need a manuscript finished.

Greetings, Harald/Oslo

The author guide doesn't say anything about superscript -- how do you know references should be in superscript? (not doubting this, just want the source of that info) ignore. See damnation's question below

Supercript is correct (as per recent papers) and correctly coded in the style (as done by myself). You can see that in action here: https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:annals-of-surgery
You're looking at a different issue here.
How are you inserting the citation in your document? How did you select the citation style?
  • Thank you for the replies, i got hold of the .csl file and now everthing looks right.
Thank you @damnation for pointing me to the right direction.
