Import bibliography into Zotero from a doc file

Is there a function in Zotero that allows me to import (into my library or a group library) the references added by another user (with Zotero) in a word doc ? Does " Add/edit bibliography" ADD without OVER-writing to any existing library?

    Note that the imported items will be new items, not connected to the document in any way.

    Add/Edit Bibliography adds a bibliography (reference list) to the current document based on the inserted citations. It does not modify your library in any way.
