Importing articles from "FAZ.net Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung"

When trying to import articles from the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (faz.net) I get an error message:

An error occurred saving with FAZ.NET. Attempting to save using Embedded Metadata instead.
An error occurred while saving this item.

Example:
http://www.faz.net/aktuell/politik/treffen-in-meseberg-platzt-der-europaeische-knoten-15648809.html

This used to work in the past. I would be very grateful if the importer script would recognize it as a newspaper and import the data not via "embedded Metadata" only. Thanks in advance!
  • That's weird -- I get this working with the FAZ translator (though it looks like the data isn't imported anymore). Which browser are you using? Do you have a FAZ subscription?

Could we get debug output from the Zotero browser connector for loading/reloading that page, please?
    https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output#zotero_connectors_firefox_chrome_and_safari

I'm wondering if the problem is caused by some ad frames (since the site forces you to turn off ad blockers).

  • There is no subscription needed for these articles (the example I sent).

Browser: Safari (Version 11.1.1 (13605.2.8), Mac OS 10.13.5)

Ok, that's really weird, this time it worked, only it didn't read the following information:
    - Place (Frankfurt)
    - Date

And the publication should read "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung", not "FAZ.NET"

    Report ID: 90845420
  • OK, that's what I'm seeing too. We should be able to fix this.
I asked about subscription because subscribers sometimes see different pages (that's the case e.g. for Le Monde).
