Automatically "reassigning" references to a group library?

I've been able to find only one inquiry about this issue—and it goes back to 2011. The response indicated that the fix was coming soon, in v.3. So, perhaps I'm overlooking something obvious.

I have an MS Word file with 71 citations, all of which originated from a collection in my library. So far, so good. Now I want to share the file with a colleague (we're co-authoring a paper). I started by creating a group library into which I copied the contents of the aforementioned collection.

Is there a way to automatically "reassign" all of the references to our group library (rather than my library), or do I have to manually replace all in-text citations throughout the document?
  • No, you would have to reinsert them. But you don’t really _have_ to use a group library. You can send the document and they can make changes. The only limitation is that, because they don’t have access to the library with the items, they won’t be able to make any edits to the items if there is an error in the data (you would have to do that). If they insert a citation, they should select it from the Cited section of the search results if available to avoid inserting duplicate citations.
