Bug: drop pdf broken

I used to be able to drag and drop a pdf into a sub-collection and then do "retrieve metainformation" ... this is now broken

the pdf file is not recognized as such (icon is white and not that of a pdf file) and accordingly the "retrieve metainformation" option does not show up in the context menu.
