Metadata from partial information
Sometimes when I import a pdf zotero cant find any metadata for it, resulting in me having to create an item for it and manually typing everything in
Is there any way to create a parent item, and then only type in partial information (such as DOI, or article name), and then rerun the metadata search to automatically grab the rest of the info from partial information?

bwiernikIf the PDF has searchable text, Zotero should be able to find the metadata using the Retrieve Metadata function in the right-click menu. If not and you have a DOI, your fastest option would probably be to add the item using the magic wand tool in the toolbar, then dragging the PDF to the new item.
