Modifying American Medical Association style so that citations are superscript

edited May 30, 2018
Hi. New user to Zotero. I know this is an obvious question but I have searched for a while and can't find the answer. I want to modify the AMA style so that the citations in my manuscript are superscript numbers, not superscript numbers surrounded by parentheses, as they are now. I downloaded the CSL for AMA and intend to make a modified version, but can not locate the code that deals with the citations in the manuscript. (The actual bibliography is fine as-is).

Any help would be most appreciated. If there is a dictionary for CSL that would be great as well.

EDIT: Sorry, I'm realizing now that I may have manually introduced the parentheses. It's been a while since this manuscript was first written. Nevertheless, if anyone can guide me as to how to alter the way the citations are formatted (ie, superscript, regular numbers, etc.), that would be great. I might need to change the format in the future.
  • Look for the “citation” macro and remove the prefix/suffix listed there under “layout”. Be sure to change the style ID and title at the top of the style.
  • Perfect. I see where that is. Thanks SO much!
