Changing references order

Hi,

I'm new to Zotero.
I looked through all the tutorials, watched youtube videos, searched the forums but could to find a solution to my problem.

I've added all my citations to my library. I'm now adding them one by one in Word and I created a bibliography at the bottom of my .doc. I'm using Vancouver style because it's the only style I found that will order the references in the same order they appear in the text (the others I tried before order the references in an alphabetical order), my question is: I want to know if it's possible to change the way the citation numbers appear on the text? In Vancouver style they appear as (1) or (1,2) and I need it to be plain numbers without parenthesis. Is it possible?

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks in advance,
  • Most numeric styles will sort based on cite order. The Nature style included by default in Zotero uses plain numbers in text.

You can look for other styles that fit your needs here:
    https://www.zotero.org/styles?format=numeric

Note that it’s best to use the style specifically for your intended journal or publisher, as this will meet all of the other requirements, not just the number format.
  • Thank you!

Vancouver cover all the editors requirements except by adding citation # inside parenthesis in the text, but I'll check the link you sent me to see if another style would be better.

    Tks!!
  • Tks for the link! You saved me a ton of time!!!
I just found the style that has ALL requirements (Archives of Ophthalmology) for my paper, although I'm not writing to this journal, the rules are just the same!

  • @ADOliv
What journal are you submitting to?
I can make a dependent style.
