ZoteroBib Word XML

Hi,
it would be great to include in ZoteroBib a Word 2007 Bibliography XML download option like JabRef. Actually I'm working on thesis and it would be great!
Regards
Francesco
  • Word bibliographies are extremely limited in their usability, and they offer nothing that ZoteroBib doesn’t already support (and their style formatting is less accurate than Zotero’s). You are really better off to just copy and paste the ZoteroBib bibliography into Word or to use the full Zotero program.

    Hi,
this thread is intended as a feature suggest. I'm not interested in other options because I need to use Word bibliography and Zotero could give me a great help generating automatically an xml that Word can read. Actually I'm trying to export to BiBTeX and then import in JabRef and exporting to Word XML. It's a tedious process and considering that Word is the de facto standard it could be a great feature.
    Thanks
    Francesco

PS. I apologize if this is not the right place for a feature suggest, and please let me know where to make it.
  • It's fine to suggest features. bwiernik explained why we're not going to implement that.
  • I do have an open ticket for Word XML from Zotero, and I hope that will happen eventually (https://github.com/zotero/translators/issues/1458 ). I would not expect that to be integrated into ZotBib unless there's significant demand (which I doubt there will be; very few people use Wor'd referencing feature), but with the ability to import from ZotBib to Zotero quickly, that'd make this a bit smoother than going through JabRef
  • If there is a de facto standard for storing reference information, it would be RIS, CSL-JSON, or perhaps Bib(La)TeX. As adamsmith notes, very few people use Word’s referencing feature. It would be nice for Zotero to export to Word XML, but it lacks the user base and necessary features to be considered a major standard.
