Update error

Hi! When opening Zotero I receive every time a message that says "zotero-bin is trying to install a new helper tool", along whit a simultaneous message reporting that "software update failed: Please make sure there are no other copies of Zotero running on your computer and then restart Zotero to try again". I've downloaded Zotero a couple of weeks ago so there are no other copies. I use it on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.4.
What do you suggest to do? Could I uninstall and re-install without loosing my saved data? Thanks for helping!
  • The "other copy" would just be Zotero not having closed properly at some point. I'd restart your computer and try again. If that doesn't help, yes, you can just download the latest version from the download page and install it over your current version. Your data won't be affected.
  • Thanks for the prompt reply! Probably the disk was not ejected properly when I first downloaded it. I've just re-installed Zotero and everything is working properly. Problem solved, thanks a lot!
