incorrect MLA Style 8th ed.?
I have installed the 8th ed. MLA style (2018-01-09 14:13:59 in the Style Repository). I am citing an unpublished thesis/dissertation that is showing up in the bibliography like a published book:
Ilett, Darren. Unavowable Strangeness: Narrating Queer Desire in Turn-of-the-Century Boarding School Fiction. University of Chicago, 2007.
Instead of what I believe the listing should be:
Ilett, Darren. "Unavowable Strangeness: Narrating Queer Desire in Turn-of-the-Century Boarding School Fiction." Dissertation, University of Chicago, 2007.

There's an example of a dissertation at the bottom of this page:

They seem to treat the university as "optional" rather than as a "publisher" -- not sure if we'd need to correct that, I think our interpretation of their general norms make more sense. I don't think the university conferring a degree can in any way be considered an "optional" element of a citation.
