Automatic Citation

Hi. Im a beginner using this zotero. I have difficulty when the file that I save in Zotero in pdf. the information about the author, date, and all that cannot appear and cannot manually insert the data. May I know why?

    Zotero cannot access metadata (author, date, and all that) from pdfs. You have two options. 1) You can save the pdf to Zotero and add the missing information yourself. Or 2) if you are accessing the pdf through a portal like Sage or Scopus or something like that, save the document in that site. For example: I am looking at the article "Big Data, new epistemologies and paradigm shift" by Kitchin in the site http://journals.sagepub.com.ezproxy.puc.cl/doi/abs/10.1177/2053951714528481. In this site I click on the Zotero plugin, and it access metadata (author, date, etc). But if I click the pdf and then click on Zotero, only a snapshot will be saved.
