Dealing with journal CSLs that sort references?
I have a reference couple of references that that I want to include in a pandoc document, using this code:
```
... whilst vegetation patterns are broadly understood at global scales [e.g. Whittaker's biome classification, @Whittaker_Classification_natural_communities_1962; and the Köppen climate classification @Kottek_Koppen-Geiger_2006], ...
```
But I want to submit it to a Copernicus journal, and their CSL sorts references, so the reference comes out like this:
> ... whilst vegetation patterns are broadly understood at global scales (and the Köppen climate classification Kottek et al., 2006; e.g. Whittaker’s biome classification, Whittaker, 1962), ...
Does anyone know what the best way of dealing with this would be? Should I ask the journal to make an exception? I could re-order the phrase in parentheses so that the authors are already in alphabetical order, but in some cases that would make far less logical sense than in this one.
