The current version of Zotero uses the "Save Page As…" functionality from Firefox (within the Zotero program, so regardless of what browser you're using), and if you try saving that page in Firefox itself you should get the same results. Basically, saving complex pages with a lot of interactivity often just won't work properly. It's possible we'll switch to another tool in the future that handles this better, but it's a tough problem, and we're more likely to go in the other direction and switch to saving simplified (reader mode–style) pages by default, since these complex pages often just don't work well in offline no matter what tool you use.
You can try using another Firefox extension that saves pages to a single file and then add that to Zotero separately. If you do find a tool that works on this page, I'd be curious to know which.
