Upgrade StorageCitation styles are missing

Basic information: I am using a PC, work with Word2016 and use the WindowsSharepoint to store my files including the data directory.
The problem:
In Word, when I want to add a citation, the search window does not open.
In Zotero, when I want to "create bibliography from items", the citation style-field in the popup window is empty; the same is true for the style field in the Citation Manager (under "Preferences" > Cite"). When I nonetheless try to create a bibliography, I get the error message: "An error occurred generating your bibliography. Please try again."
To identify the error source:
I changed to the Zotero library in a finished project, but I still have the same problems as described (though the test library I chose used to work). When my colleague loads my Zotero library, he has the same described features with missing styles and same problems I mentioned above, and when he moves back to the library in his project, his Zotero works again just fine.
In the folder in Windows explorer with my Zotero library, I found there is no "styles" folder in this project. When I manually copy the Styles folder from another Zotero library to this one (I was desperate), it does not solve anything.
Under "Zotero preferences", I furthermore re-installed the Word PlugIn, and I reset the styles. It did not cure the situation; I checked database integrity (was okay).

If you really want to try to get the network share to work, you can try moving the data directory much higher in the filesystem hierarchy. You have it in a very deep folder, and you might be running into Windows file path length limits (e.g., 255 characters).
it works! The styles are back, and I can create the bibliography.
I moved the Zotero data directory from the Microsoft Sharepoint to my local desktop.
This is not the preferred procedure in our office, but if it does the trick - at least I can finally continue my work on that project.
