Missing References and problems with syncing

I am working in my group library with my research team and I have one missing reference and one of my colleagues have 2 more items than I do. We are in the same folder with different numbers of references. We have tried syncing unsuccessfully to get the group folder to tally the same. Any one have an ideas? Thanks ~LV
