Empty authors automatically added, impossible to remove

I'm finding that often when I add a book, Zotero gets the idea that there are three authors, two of which are empty. (They appear in Zotero as "(last), (first)," and are exported to bibtex, etc., as "undefined and undefined.") I can click on the "-" sign by the name as much as I like, but the name only disappears until I focus on another field, then the empty authors come right back. If I duplicate the entry, the empty authors do not show up in the duplicated entry, so my current workaround is to duplicate it and delete the original.
