Is Zotero really safe?
When I try to install Zotero Connector plug in on Safari it says "Zotero can read, modify, and transmit content from all webpages. This could include sensitive information like passwords, phone numbers, and credit cards".
Should we install it? I wonder why Apple warns about it if this is not a real threat.
Thanks.

adamsmithThis is not a warning as much as a description of what Zotero needs to be able to do to work. Most browser extensions have similar requirements. Zotero imports information from pages you are looking at, so it needs to read their content. As with any software you install, you need to trust the source. Zotero is open source software produced at a major public university, so arguably more trustworthy than most other tools you would install.
