Exclude Item Types from Bibliography

At the moment I'm putting together my own CSL style for legal documents in german (note type citing in footnotes).

One thing, that bothers me the most it that I can't cite certain items (legal_case) without putting them to the bibliography.
If I cite it the right footnote apears but lacking a layout for the bibliograhpy I get the entry:
" CSL STYLE ERROR: reference with no printed form.]"

Is there and chance to avoid this bibliography entry and just cite certain items without a layout for the bibliography?

  • What version of Zotero are you using?
  • Atm I'm using V 4.0.29.16 under Debian.

Is this a matter of the Zotero Version? I would have thought it's am matter of my CSL Style…?
  • Upgrade to Zotero. It has a newer version of the citation processor that supports styles where some items don’t appear in the bibliography. You can also install the Propachi plugin instead, but you really should update to Zotero 5 at this point.
  • Ah perfect. I wasn't aware that there is a much newer version than the one on the debian repository.
Thank you very much – it works now perfectly with the update to V 5.0.
