A yellow triangle appears over the zotero icon at the bottom of the browser. Any ideas? THanks.

Not much to go on there, unfortunately, though you could try (backing up and) deleting any existing .bak files in the Zotero data directory.

Is this on an internal hard drive or an external disk?

Thanks Dan.

On Friday, I had my mac support guy totally uninstall zotero AND firefox (including the files in the Applications Support folder that I had missed -- FYI to mac newbies like me) and start over.

That seemed to do the trick and now I've upgraded to 2.0.
