attempted upgrade results in endless "reboot" loop

Running Windows 8.1, began having problems w/ Zotero not wanting to save items to my library. On advice of librarian, I went to the Downloads page at Zotero.org and downloaded latest update. After the exe file ran, it asked me to reboot, which I did. Now when I try to open, uninstall, or reload Zotero I get the same reboot message. I have rebooted multiple times, but I always end up in the same place.
  • Just delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero (or Zotero Standalone) folder and reinstall Zotero. Your data won't be affected.
  • Same problem. Zotero not running, keeps asking for reboot and it won't unisntall. Zotero is not saved in C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero but in Users and there's no standalone folder.
  • When not installed by Admin, Zotero is in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Zotero

That's the folder to delete. You want to be absolutely sure to _not_ delete the data folder, which is also called zotero and by default is in C:\Users\[username]
