Zotfile is not working

Hi everybody!
I'm having some troubles with Zotfile. Apparently it's not compatible with my version of Firefox, that's why I was forced to use Safari, download the .xpi file of Zotfile and then I tried to to install it in Zotero by clicking on "Tools", "Add-ons" and "Install add-on from file". and Zotfile is still not working. I've been struggling with this issue for days, so I would be very much obliged if you could help me solve this problem.

Yes, you need to install into Zotero, not Firefox. You can download from Firefox by right-clicking on the download link and choosing Save As.

When you try to install the .xpi into Zotero, does it stay on the screenshot forever, not finishing installing?

Are you downloading the current version from Zotfile.com?

When I try to install it into Zotero I see what you can find in the image I posted, that is: "Downloaded", and that's all. But as I said, it doesn't work at all.

I'm pretty sure I've downloaded the current version from Zotfile.com. I mean, there's only one version I've found on this page: http://zotfile.com/
I really don't understand what else should I do.

What is the file name of the xpi? And what version of Zotero?

I'm so sorry for the late answer!

The version of Zotero is 5.0.34.4. The file name of the .xpi is "zotfile-4.2.8-fx.xpi"

The version for download on www.zotfile.com is 5.0.6 -- not sure how you found the 4.2.8 version, but it will indeed not work with Zotero 5

OK. I don't know why, but now I've managed to download the 5.0.6 version and it's actually working. But believe me: All the other times I tried it, the version was the ancient one I named.
Anyway, all's well that ends well...!

I've followed the instructions for dowloading Zotfile and am using v. 5.0.25 of Zotero. I have pointed to the folder where I am dowloading PDFs but when I do this, Zotero doesn't seem to give me the pop-up box that it is renaming the file and the pdf then doesn't attach to the record. Any suggestions? Are there other options I need to check to make this work. I had it working previously (older version).
