Merging current account to an institutional one?

Hello, I signed up for Zotero with a gmail account. I am running out of storage, and my institution supposedly has unlimited storage. How can I merge my account over to an institutional account? Or should I just add my institutional email address?
  • Institutional storage is based on the domain of the user email addresses, so I believe that it should just work to add/change your account email address to the institutional one.
  • It didn't help. Still only have 300MB of storage. Could it be my institution doesn't have unlimited storage? It is Columbia University.
  • How does one check if your institution gets unlimited storage?
  • I would contact your university library and inquire.
  • I'm pretty sure Columbia does not have an institutional subscription to Zotero -- they'd mention this on their pages documenting Zotero (http://www.columbia.edu/cu/lweb/help/howto/endnote/#zotero ).

Is there any reason that would make you think they offer this?
  • I figured because they mention it they have access.
  • No, most libraries who recommend Zotero don't have any subscriptions (you also, to be clear, don't need any storage to use Zotero and most of its features; storage is only for attachment sync and even there you have alternatives for individual libraries)
