Merging current account to an institutional one?

Hello, I signed up for Zotero with a gmail account. I am running out of storage, and my institution supposedly has unlimited storage. How can I merge my account over to an institutional account? Or should I just add my institutional email address?

    Institutional storage is based on the domain of the user email addresses, so I believe that it should just work to add/change your account email address to the institutional one.

    It didn't help. Still only have 300MB of storage. Could it be my institution doesn't have unlimited storage? It is Columbia University.

    How does one check if your institution gets unlimited storage?

    I would contact your university library and inquire.

    I'm pretty sure Columbia does not have an institutional subscription to Zotero -- they'd mention this on their pages documenting Zotero (http://www.columbia.edu/cu/lweb/help/howto/endnote/#zotero ).

    Is there any reason that would make you think they offer this?

    I figured because they mention it they have access.

    No, most libraries who recommend Zotero don't have any subscriptions (you also, to be clear, don't need any storage to use Zotero and most of its features; storage is only for attachment sync and even there you have alternatives for individual libraries)
