Why are there 2113 references to "garage" as in "garage repair" in the list of people for this tool? It seems like a company is inappropriately using this as a marketing tool.

    Yes, you are right, there is a lot of peoples with the same or similar CV which seems like advertising of commercial service. The personal pictures of these "peoples" are downloaded from the internet and I can say, that these profiles are fake.

    They shouldn't for the most part be indexed by google and links from Zotero profile pages don't count for PageRank, so it's not like they get much out of it -- but it's an issue to the degree that searching for people on Zotero is pretty pointless.

    Developers have tried some things -- and at least for the forums that's been effective, but there's currently no effective Spam prevention for account creation itself.
