Is there a plug-in to identify the duplicate reference and eject its re-add?

As the title. If not, I suggest the official developing a function which can identify the duplicates and refuse to re-add. Because it takes lot of my time to delete these references and attachments. Some time I delete the wrong one. It's really annoying.

    generally planned, but not going to be super soon, I'm afraid. Note that you should use merge duplicate rather than deleting an incorrectly added item to prevent deleting the wrong one.
