in-text citation

Hello everyone! I am using Zotero for my bachelor thesis. I am working with Word 2011 on a Macbook and with the Zotero version 5.0x. I would like to use a in-text citation style, like for example Harvard or Chicago Manual (author, date). Although in the preview these two citation styles always show up in brackets, they appear as a footnote when I add the citation in the document. Do I have to change any particular settings so that the they're added in brackets instead of footnotes? Thanks a lot in advance! best regards, Cara
  • You can try to find the style in the repository which meets your requirements.

  • It actually sounds like you have the right style, though -- Chicago (author-date) as well as all Harvard styles should already be in text.
There's not setting that would put them in a footnote, but are you sure you have the right style selected? Note that you select the style in a Word document you do so under "Set Document Preferences" in the Word add-on, not in the preferences of Zotero itself.
