File the references in a particular order
Hello,
I'm a medical student and need to make a thesis on my Macbook with Zotero, using the Vancouver norm.
I'm using Apple's "Pages" (I don't want to buy Word) to make my writing and I will export the Zotero's bibliography at the end of my work. I'm putting all my references in the Zotero app as I make my research.
Yet, I can't find the way to reorganize the references I already have to appears in the order I want. They always stays in the order I import them. A "drag and drop" on the list doesn't work neither.
I'll be glad if you could help me. Thanks !

bwiernikI recommend you use LibreOffice with Zotero. It’s free and will automatically update there Bibliogrpahy and numbering of citations as you insert citations.

dstillmanBasically, while you can use export one-off bibliographies in any style, it really only makes sense for alphabetic styles. For numeric styles you really need to use Zotero's word processor plugin so that the order matches the inserted citations. Currently that means using either the Word or OpenOffice plugin. (Pages doesn't offer any sort of plugin architecture we can use.)

SimonPlfThanks for your answers. Considering I won't have a lot of references, about 20, I'll stay on using Pages and will adjust the numbers in order to be in "chronological" order.

bwiernikI believe that Zotero will export numbered bibliographies in the order they are displayed in the center pane. So you can sort by Year, then export to get a chronological Bibliogrpahy. That might make re-ordering them a bit less labor-intensive.
