Split screen Mac citation pane

When i work on split screen for Mac (usually Word on one side and PDF on the other) whenever i try to cite and press the Zotero button in Word the cite panel brings me to a completely new desktop screen just for that instance leaving the split screen i have been working on. Is there anyway that the cite panel stays within the actual split screen surface?

    This is technically possible to fix, but not very easy with the current codebase, so I'm not sure if it's going to be prioritised soon.
