I'm having this exact same issue. I deleted a bunch of tags in the local and they are still showing up online and not syncing correctly on other people's local machines in the same group. Was this ever figured out?

Moving this to a new thread, since the other wouldn't have been about Zotero 5.0.
How exactly are you deleting the tags, and where are they showing up?
Can you provide a
Debug ID
for 1) a tag deletion and 2) the first sync after that (assuming you then don't see the changes in the online library)?
