Saving not possible from google books

Unfortunately, I can't save anymore from google books.

When I try to save from the page with search results, I get this message:
Saving to My Library…
An error occurred while saving this item. See Troubleshooting Translator Issues for more information.

This problem has been going on for months, but hasn't posed a problem for me in practice since I would just click on the specific book I would like to save and save from there. But as of recently, I can't do that either, since Zotero doesn't recognize the book as a book but just as a generic web page.

The problem persists both in Firefox and Chrome and does not occur on worldcat.org. Firefox and Zotero are both up to date.

    I have no problem import data from books.google.com. So it seems like a different problem. Google is very quick to lock out users that look like robots.

    Are you trying to import several pages of results in quick succession? If so, you are likely being locked out for automated crawling like LiborA says. If you go to the Google Books page, are you given a Captcha to try to solve or an error message?

    I'm not at the moment importing several pages of results in quick succession, but I have for sure done so in the past (yeah academic life!).
    Well, I'm clearly not a robot, but how can I convince Google about that essential fact?
    I am presently not being given a Captcha to solve or any other error message apart from the Zotero message I cited above.

    You can try these steps. If they don't work, you unfortunately may just have to wait for Google to reset your access. In the mean time,

    To be sure it is an access limit lockout, can you provide a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector (under Preferences -> Advanced) for an attempt to save from Google Books that fails?

    In the mean time, a relatively fast workaround would be to copy the isbn numbers from the search result URLs (just below the titles) and add these to Zotero using the Add by Identifier (magic wand) tool.
