Zotero Standalone - Metadata

Hi,

today I had to install the standalone of zotero due to the changes in firefox :-(

I just found out that the automatic retrieval of metadata has stopped working, whereas in firefox it had always worked fine. I can do a rightclick on the imported file in zotero and click on "retrieve metadata for pdf". This way it works, but its quite annoying.

Is there any checkbox in the preferences section I've missed?

    You mean when saving a PDF? That's gone -- there's no way to modify save dialogs in Firefox with add-ons anymore.

    In case that's not clear, though -- retrieve metadata should rarely be the way to get metadata for items you download from the web. Almost all the time, using the Save to Zotero button yields better results.

    It's long been planned to automate retrieve metadata in Zotero, though. It's a bit tricky given how quickly google scholar locks you out, but I understand Zotero is working on ways to reduce the dependency on google for this, which would then allow to just have that run whenever you add a top-level PDF.
