removing quotation marks from Letter titles

CMoS 16th & 17th editions do not include quotation marks around the letter "title" (in this example George Creel to Colonel House) in notes. But Zotero includes quotes around what is typed into the title field in the Letter item type. Can the quotation marks be suppressed, or is there an alternative way to enter the to information in the form so that it displays correctly in the note?

1. George Creel to Colonel House, 25 September 1918, Edward M. House Papers, Yale University Library.
  • If you leave the title field blank, Zotero should format the letter correctly using the Author and Recipient fields.
  • Yes, the manual isn't 100% clear on this, but if a letter were to be cited with an actual title (e.g., the subject line of an e-mail), I believe that should be in quotation marks, following the logic of the ones set in
    14.229 here
