Zotero is Offline (firefox plugin)

Hello,
I use Zotero for several years now, and today i cannot open the firefox plugin anymore.
The icon is gray, and indicates "Zotero is offline".
I never had this problem before.

It does the same on two distinct machines (both running Linux, one on Ubuntu, the other on Mageia. Firefox versions are 56.0 and 52.2.0, respectively).

Anyone has the same issue, and a solution?

Install Zotero Standalone, it should find your Zotero data in your Firefox profile automatically.

While I read this is due to a component of Mozilla Firefox which is no longer available, this is absolutely not convenient.
For many academic users, the admin rights are often not granted, which makes a standalone installation really tedious (need to ask the IT services, ...)

I find it hard to believe that you have an Ubuntu system that's so locked down you can't run Zotero Standalone on it? It doesn't require admin/superuser rights to run/install Zotero and I would, in fact, recommend to install it without sudo.
