zotfile sync directly to device

Hi,
I cant figure out how to sync (zotfile preferences/tablet settings/base folder) to my device. I don't want to use dropbox, i want to sync directly to my phones SD-card.
Im using windows 8 and an android phone.

When you have the phone connected to your computer, you should be able to mount it as an external hard drive. You would set a folder in the mounted cell phone drive as the Tablet folder in Zotfile's preferences.

(As an aside, you should upgrade to Windows 10. Windows 8 is no longer receiving security patches from Microsoft and is unsafe to use.)

But just to be clear, the way Zotfile's send to tablet was/is intended _does_ involve using a third party sync service such as Dropbox.

Ok. I should mount the android phone as an external hard drive.

Off topic: Windows 8.1 gets updates to 2023.
"Windows 8.1 is supported with security updates until the end of extended support on January 10, 2023. You must have updated to Windows 8.1 to get updates—the original version of Windows 8 isn’t supported with updates anymore."

I could mount the phone with webdav and zotero finds my external sd card in storage/1F92-1A05. The folder is registered as "base folder" in zotero and im allowed to send attachments. However, nothing appears on the phone. Im thinking it is because zotero is on a windows computer with a different file system?
Any ideas?

You’re misunderstanding. Don’t set your phone as a base folder in Zotero. You need to set your phone as the destination folder in the Tablet settings tab of the _Zotfile_ Preferences.

Yes that is what i meant. I registered the destination folder in the zotfile's tablet settings as the phones sd card. However, when sending files, zotero shows the icons for files being sent but nothing appears on the phone.

If you set the destination folder to be a regular folder on your computer, does it work?

Can you move a file directly to the phone from Windows Explorer?
