modify/update changed url? and quick add for multiple tags

Is it currently possible to change the link of an url saved with "Save Link to Current Page", ie. if the link is modified or changed? Also does anyone know if it is currently possible to insert multiple tags simultaneously without clicking Add each time? I tried "aaa" "bbb" aaa,bbb - they don't seem to work.

No, but web page items should generally be used rather than link attachments.

Close the tag selector by clicking the button to the left of the gear icon and the field won't close when you hit Return. This is a known bug.
  • Thanks Dan - do you know if there there is any reason they can't be edited? I tried making links as Web Page items, and while it allows you to edit the URL, it's much more complex as you still have to attach a weblink just to click so it can be opened again. With a weblink, just find and in a single click there's your page. And if the url changes, you would have to change the URL field, remove the old link attachment, then re-attach with the new one, and redo the tags.

No you don't. Click the View button.
  • I take it you mean the View Snapshot button? I was referring to having a quick and easy way to jump back to the original webpage / link, as opposed to viewing a snapshot image of the webpage (kind of like a standard link organizer would - that's not putting down zotero, of course, as it's obviously so much more - and more powerful - than that based on my preliminary experiences with it).
  • If there's a child snapshot that matches the URL of the parent item (e.g., if you have the automatic snapshot pref enabled), it's "View Snapshot". If there's not, it's "View" and it takes you to the URL in the URL field. If there's a snapshot and you still want to go to the live URL, click the "URL" label to the left of the URL field.

Link attachments are really only intended for things like Amazon pages or database URLs, where the link might be handy to have but isn't part of the parent item.
  • Ok that was it, I had the auto snapshot preference enabled! But I think I may have found a possible bug. Technically, if a snapshot attachment is deleted, shouldn't the button go back to offering just a "View" button? When I remove an attachment link, while the item says 0 attachments, I can still click "View Snapshot" and see the page snapshot. Shouldn't the snapshot be deleted along with the link entry?
  • That sounds like a bug, but I suspect it goes away if you empty the trash (assuming you're using 1.5) after deleting the snapshot.
  • Yes, you're right, emptying the trash solved the problem, so it is likely a bug. I am using the 1.5beta too btw.
