Zotero 5.0

So I followed these instructions but now I cannot access my existing library. Help!

First, install the Zotero Connector for Firefox from the download page, which will replace Zotero 4.0 for Firefox. Next, from the same page, install Zotero 5.0 for Mac, Windows, or Linux.

    when you say you can't access your library, what happens when you run Zotero?

    I can't even find Zotero on my computer to run it. I used to have an icon on my desktop and now it's gone. I don't know where to begin. Someone else installed Zotero for me a few years ago. I tried to download it by clicking on the download button from zotero.org but nothing seems to happen.

    when I click on the download button, it asks if I want to save it. I click yes and then nothing happens.
