Share "My library" to group member
Hi,
I'm writing a paper in word and using zotero to insert reference. I have a colleague and it will be highly desired to let him to insert reference too. Now several references from my library have been inserted into the paper. I tried to create a group library and copied my library there. But I found zotero distinguishes the same paper from my library and the group library. Is there a way to combine these two?

bwiernikNo. You should always cite the paper from the Group library and replace references to the paper in My Library with ones to the paper in the Group library.

xiay07That seems troublesome. Hopefully the developers of zotero can come up with some easier way. But thank you all the same!

bwiernikYou can also just keep citing the one from your library, then make sure that both you and the co-author always choose the item from the list of "Cited Items" to make sure that duplicates aren't inserted. This will work fineāthe only benefit of using a Group is that all members can edit the item metadata. This is what I typically do with my papers.

xiay07Oh yes, the cited items can be used. Many thanks for point this out!
